They did provide this one for the Maximus VIII Hero Alpha. Up and running, functions all fine, unknown device still gone, all good after 4 hours of RealBench. Still has the faster POST time introduced in 1902.

I always use EZflash, never had a problem and I've done more than 8 Updates on my VIII Hero

The EZ Flash way is about as easy as it gets. However I did not try any other way as this was my first update. I did my first update and without even reading forums or how to guides, I figured it out by myself within a min or 2. When you download the bios, just go into your motherboard bios to the EZ flash tab and navigate to the download directory of the new bios. Select the new bios and there you go.
