Issue

Hello,
Cpu fans (on the waterblock so) weren't spinning since my computer started.
Nothing was indicating such a situation, my fans are really quiet, no UEFI messages and no alert from AI suite. I didn't know they weren't spinning until my cpu hit more than 90°C and I started to smell something hot.
When I realized, I immediately turned it off, wait for it to cooldown, and started it again.
Cpu fans still weren't spinning, so I connected them to another motherboard and they are both working fine.
I found a way to solve this: I turned off the power supply switch, pressed many times on the start button, and then everything was fine again.

But now, I want to understand the following:

  • Why cpu fans weren't spinning ?
  • Why there were no messages in UEFI saying cpu fans aren't spinning, even if the monitoring is active in the settings ? (on second boot, I could see both fans and none of them were spinning, still no message)
  • With such a temperature, what can I expect from Asus for my CPU and watercooling ?

Unfortunately I had a X-99 Deluxe with USB problems, I sent it back.
As I had to wait for the repair, I bought a X-99 Strix.
First I had some problems with AI suite and GPU tweaker II on it (blue screen with IOmap64.sys).
And now this, what will be next ? I've been building computers for years, always using Asus parts and never experienced such problems.

Thank you for reading, have a nice day !
