X-99 Pro board - 10 sec pause before POST

Hi All,

I have built many workstations using Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI over 15 years. Until now, I have never seen a mobo that takes 10 to 15 seconds from hitting the power button to seeing the first word of POST screen along a beep.

This X99 board is taking a sweet time before I hear the beep and the "American Megatrend..." screen.

Other than this puzzling delay, everything works fine.

Any known cure?

Thanks guys!

Well, this board behaved like this well before OS was installed. The same behavior before and after OS was installed. I even tried two different installations; one with legacy BIOS mode OS, and another with UEFI mode. Same behavior!

Intel i7-5960X, Asus X-99 Pro 3.1 BIOS-3101, Corsair DDR4 8x8GB 3000MHz, Samsung 950 Pro M.2, EVGA 970GTX, Corsair 80+ 850W PS.

Makes me wonder about your memory. Is it running at 3000? Takes a lot of tweaking per the experts around here. Does it stop with a Q code?

Does the DDR4 training take place BEFORE or AFTER the "power on beep"?
