Using (2)two 32GB Kits

Will there be a problem with using 2 of the 32GB kits instead of a 64GB kit? I got the following 2 kits since finding 64gb kits seems limited. Crucial support stated they were compatible with the Rampage V Extreme, but it hasn't been added to the ASUS Memory compatibility list yet.

Crucial Ballistix Sport 32GB Kit (8GBx4) DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) CL16 DR x8 Unbuffered DIMM 288-Pin Memory BLS4K8G4D240FSA

Is there a way for me to see if both kits are from the same batch?

never combine unmatched Memory kits, as it can bring you a lot of headaches!
there is absolutely no guarantee that they will work together without problems.

I'm not sure what you mean by unmatched in this case. I have 2 x Crucial Ballistix Sport 32GB Kit (8GBx4) (BLS4K8G4D240FSA). So, my take is that I have 2 matched kits. My question is about if using these 2 kits would cause problems or does it HAVE to be 1 x 64GB kit (8GBx8).

Hello

2 sets of something is not a matched set. Memory manufacturers only guarantee the stated timings, voltage and speed of the set when used as purchased and not when combining sets. Mixing sets may result in the need for manually setting timings, voltages and or operating at a reduced memory speed. There is a reason why 64GB sets of memory are currently difficult to find.

So if I make use of setting both to the same settings BIOS, this would get them to a 'matched' state if even at just the default speed?

I was kind of looking for a way to identify if both kits came from the same batch. I would think there is a number or code on each stick to identify it. Thanks for the response.

It doesn't matter if they came from the same batch. There is still no 100% guarantee that they will work.

But to answer your question. The numbers after the dot in the part number is the batch information.

Well My latest update is that it works. I had some issues starting off with both 32GB kits installed at once. I pulled the second kit, entered the UEFI and updated the AI Overclock Tuner to XMP then installed the 2nd kit and have had no problems installing my O/S. I have not done any load testing yet but multiple boots and running with just O/S only has not had any problems. I'll update in a week or so after I have had more time bullying it.

Part number on all 8 stix are from the same batch (M16F): BLS8G4D240FSA.M16F

What will be nice is that if this all pans out, using the 2x 32GB kits vs. 1x 64GB kit will save about 800 bucks.

As mentioned earlier, combining kits is a hit or miss scenario. You cannot generalise on the basis of an individual case.
