hi all, i have old hardware/ peripherals which need USB2.0, and don't want to use HUBS and create chain of hardware. what are my options as an RVE owner, to get USB2.0 connections on the board / or from the board directly? (i have 8x USB3.0 ports, and really only need half) what are my options to get more USB 2.0?

thank you all.

Such an unfortunate situation.

I would however, do the following:
1. Download the latest bios and run a flashback.
2. Enter bios and set to default.
3. Reinstall windows with all those peripherals connected.
4. Install the latest driver and run windows update.

Let's see if the problem persist.

tested two more boards Asus Rampage V Extreme, from OC community here, all with different BIOS versions, and they all have the same symptoms, connect any of the above USB devices and motherboards stop booting. will test Z270 chipset boards and other brand X99 chipset boards, as i have the feeling this is related to only X99 RVE boards.

Many legacy USB devices cause conflicts on the newer platforms. I see it a lot with racing wheels, flight joysticks, etc... They require firmware upgrades. If none are available, you can disable xHCI as a workaround but lose USB 3.0 functionality.
