I have tried to install the new USB driver on a fresh install of windows with no success. I keep getting the same error message even with the older driver. I tried the new driver first without success then installed the older driver-it gave me the same error message, but it did install as it is in add/remove programs. I then tried to update with the new driver by simply installing over the older one with the same error, but it did not update it. Ideas? Thanks.

Are you installing the Asmedia USB3.1/3.0 Driver V1.16.23.0 for Windows 7/8/8.1 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL) driver? Also did you select the correct one according to your OS? I just updated mines without problems.

Yes, I did select windows 8.1 64. Don't know why it's a problem. I have downloaded it twice.

Just downloaded from a different server and attempted to install again. Same problem. ??
