Hi Friend... i really happy when i build my new system, feel i got a strongest desktop procesor, great x99 motherboard ever.
here is my spec.. Rampage V extreme (1401bios), i7 5960x, corsair vengeance lpx 2800 16gb (4x4), PSU Corsair HX1000watt, Plextor m.2 ssd 256mb (system os), Corsiar cooler H105, VGA Titan x.
this 2 days i try to overclock my system... first i try to set everything default F5 to load optimal setting and i just set xmp to 2800 and boot but result fail (cannot load to windows) trying to xmp 300 also fail, trying to set manual and set ddr to 2800 and 3000 and set both vddr to 1.35 also fail... system will just normal and boot if everything set to auto. i read so many times in this forum and find out if there any user had the same problem like me and i found chino article how to set ram working on 3000 by trying to adjust vcsa one point by pone point also fail.. trrying again set xmp 2800 and 300 ad set vcsa to 1volt 1,1volt and even 1,2volt system also wont boot...
Trying again to try other method to make my system can get higher speed... try eveything in bios default and just set cpu level up to 4gz windows boot normal and very stable.. cpu running at 100x40 and ram still 2133mhz. with this setting i try to set ddr to 2800 and 3000 and set vdimm to 1.35 system wont boot again to windows..
trying to flash same bios again through usb fat32 from easzy flash bios... after new flash bios (1401 again) everything result still the same...
sudenlly i try to swith to bios 2, my bios 2 still the first release version 0603. first time boot with this bios 2 i try to clear cmos and the go to bios and just set xmp 3000 then try to wunning window.. everything normal in windows, ram can running 3000mhz, feel so happy in this moment, cpu in this setting is 125x28 trying benchamark everything normal... then i try again go to bios and set multiplier to 32 hope my proc running 4ghz with 125x32 ans set vcore to 1,25 and set cpu input voltage to 1,85 and syetem also go to windows with normal.. benchmark and playing games for 2 hours still normal..
what happen with my system ? i really want to use new bios so my motherboard get the latest version of bios, but new bios 1401 cannot running xmp 3000 even 2800 on my sytem with bios 1401
trying to downgrade to bios 1302 result is same, trying again with other bios 1103 until version 0706 but my r5e cannot flash with "this is not proper file" result..
one think that i mention from bios 1401 and 0603... with bios 1401 when i try to load xmp 2800 or 3000 result is cannot boot to windows but when i go to bios i see my volt sytem agent is 1.1volt but when i go to bios 2 (0603) and set xmp to 2800 or 3000 system boot normal to windows and i see on bios my volt system agent is just only 0.899volt

and now that make me also confuse and strees is my system that is running 0603 bios with xmp 3000 is running well on windows (benchmark and strees test is ok) but when i turn off my pc and on again it alwast stuck at first boot screen and show that my overclocking failed..
really really make me confuse 😞 😞 😞

When I enable an XMP profile, save and reset from the BIOS, it goes through the process of checking everything but gets hung up on the memory test and the red LED at the top of my MB (above the memory) stays lit. I've tried both XMP profiles, tried the voltages to Auto and multiple other voltages for my DRAM up to 1.35v, and I've tried manually setting the timings but nothing seems to work.

Well, let me correct that, a few times since I bought this MB, I would switch the XMP profile switch on and run the auto tune in the BIOS and my system would boot. I would save the profile, but after restarting my system, it would get hung up again. Nothing's consistent.

What QCODE do you see on your DEBUG LED when your system halts? Also please locate the exact QLED that remains lit as well.

Did changing out your Corsair Vengeance LPX 2800 memory fix this problem? I've been having the same problem, and I've read about other people having this same problem. It's always with someone running the LPX 2800 memory, not any other kind of memory.

I've also spent hours trying out every possible combo to get 2800 to work. Finally got it stable but using a low 4GHz OC which I don't mind, as I'm planning to make this build last for quite awhile. When I first bought the RAM, I was told by the retailer that the Vengeance LPX kits were value or budget kits, implicitly implying I was being cheap by choosing this over others, and he recommended Gskill with their ugly heatsinks instead. But he had no 32G kits at the time, so I went with 'budget' Corsair which came with a 50 dollar premium over the Christmas period. Oh the irony. On hindsight, I should've waited till later for the Ripjaws or ordered Dominators online instead. When I went to RMA my first kit, the tech guy said the LPX sets weren't selling that well too. No idea about how it's like worldwide, but I'm guessing many others have problems like ours too and returned them quickly.
