RVE BIOS 2001 does not reconize second SATA CD/DVD ROM drive (anymore)

Level 7
Had this system up and running for about a year and half. All was well until updated BIOS to 3301 last week. Problem was system continued to reboot without user intervention. Decided to downgrade to 3101, it too had experienced random reboots. Flashed the MB with 2001, which was loaded and had been stable since updated in March 2016. After the initial update from 2001 to 3301, the system experienced a fault in the BIOS where the second SATA 6 CD/DVD ROM drive could not be recognized. No matter what I did to correct the fault, nothing seems to work. Currently, the CD/DVD drives are both on the same data belt and are powered by Corsair AX1500i PSU.

This missing or BIOS identified as, "not installed" SATA device is a mystery to me. From what I can see, the option to disable / enable the SATA device is functional. In this case, whether setting the SATA to disable or enable concludes with the same results, which is "not installed".

Any suggestions or help in resolving this mystery would be great.
