ROG RAMPAGE IV Extreme Encore USB sounds after latest motherboard update

Im using Armoury Crate and today it had an update to 6.1.1.13.0

ROG RAMPAGE V1 Extreme Encore Motherboard also had an update, although it doesnt have a version listed in ArmCrate, just says 2025/03/03 which I assume is todays date due to it being installed today.

Immediately after applying the update I started to get USB connect/disconnect sounds.

I have unplugged all USB devices and still get the sound with nothing connected. Looking in device manager the page refreshes when the sounds are made but there is no change and ovciously with nothing connected at all thats odd.

Any suggestions how to resolve? Its clearly something the update has done as I've been sat in front of it all day and did not hear anything, but as soon as it has applied the update and restarted its relentlessly doing it.

Short of taking a hammer to it, is there anything I can do? I dont want to turn off the sound but its driving me insane!

Captain Gimp, I'm no expert, but there are a few common steps you can take to remedy the issue.
One rule of thumb for doing updates is that if your PC is running with out any issues, then skip the updates.  It's a common practice when deciding on doing an update is to read the details of the update to see if what it brings to improving functionality of device and software communication is something you really need.  From my own online research into updates, they always come with the risk that doing an update can cause issues such as what you have now.

I would suggest that you undo the update. Often some updates will do an automatic system restore point before installing.
So, you could try going into System Restore and look for the last restore point and do a restore to undo the update.
If you know the date you installed it on, then look for the same date in restore. This is a quick fix way.

I know there are other methods for undoing an Update. In fact, in my research of many different PC Builds for various things I found that often you can find several ways to accomplish the same thing. It comes down to personal choice and preference to simply finding the first thing to fix the issue you find.

Do a online search for ASUS Rampage ## how to undo an update or go to go ASUS support help see get the steps for undoing an update.

Or search here to see if any other have done the update you did and had issues.

Go do crazy some place else, we're all stocked up here!
