Thanks xcite, keep us posted. Just flashed right now and made sure that I disabled CPU Spread Spectrum. Will see how it goes as well.

Spectrum Spread doesn't do anything, placebo, sorry.

Placebo or not, no more random restarts/shutdowns thankfully.

You must be lucky then as it did absolutely jack for me. Are you sure you didn't change something else in process, like using XMP profile as someone else recommended.

Rampage Extreme power dropout solution bios 3301 put in bios bclk recovery on disable and cpu spread spectrum on auto for more than 24 hours, no dropout more

maybe the solution 🙂

What is bios bclk recovery?
So far we had the following *solutions*:
- Install 3xx BIOS multiple times
- Use XMP profile
- Disable CPU Spread Spectrum
- Disable Bclk Recovery? (this is new)

So far I have tried 3 different versions of 3xx including the latest one with items in bold with no success whatsoever.

Not a single word from ASUS support, only new versions of BIOS popping up every other week with "improved system stability" with no apparent improvement to this particular random reboots issue.

Have you tried enabling XMP by selecting the exact speed for your RAM as listed in the compatibility guide of the motherboard manual? It might be what worked for me, as stated in my post (in the other thread) I tried too many things at once to know precisely what worked for me, but XMP was part of it.

The two other things I did at once was to switch BIOSes (there are two on this motherboard) and a full CMOS reset using the button on the backplate. I linked the other thread earlier on where I detail every step I did. Still running strong here ( > 4 days now, still short for a stability test, but sure beats the usual powerloss reboot in less than a day I used to have).

The BIOS flash to 3202 was sort of rough in the sense that when I powered on the system it showed a message that it was "updating the BIOS".

Restarted multiple times and then everything worked as it should, but the Boot process was a lot slower.

I have been using XMP for both 3202 and 3301.

3202 seemed a lot slower in booting up as well, could chalk it up to a "bad" flash but with 3301 thankfully no issues at all.

Ran multiple instances of ROG Bench to make sure as well and tried a few games, so far rock solid.

Oh and another thing the PC doesn't seem to have an issue going to sleep now, that stopped properly working with 3202.

I had recently installed 3301 bios and ever since, I'm getting qcode 67 when trying to start the PC... the thing is that I was running my overclocked CPU on 1902 ver. with no issues. Same settings applied, same setup and qcode 67 keeps showing up on fresh PC start...
Forcing mobo to start with backup bios that was something like 1801 version caused unwanted update to 3301 version... I have no way to revert the bleeding bios update.
This is getting ridiculous now and frankly my very last asus mobo!

Update: luckily downgrade to previous version was succesful however ASUS, please do not release BIOS that is full of bugs...
