Rampage V Edition 10 memory compatibility at XMP

Hi guys,

I am about to purchase a new RIG. I am just about to choose the Rampage V Edition 10 for it, but after all the memory issues I had in the past with the Rampage V Extreme 3.1 (with a 5930k and Kingston DDR4 3.000MHz) I was totally unable to have the RAM running at 3k, even using the XMP profile.

Now, I want to buy the most compatible system as possible. I will be using the 6850k Broadwell-e processor, and I am planning to use Corsair Dominator DDR4 3.333Mhz 32GB (kit of 4x8). Question is, how come that in the Asus Support compatibility page http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA2011/RAMPAGE_V_EDITION_10/R5E10_HASWELL_QVL.pdf only shows so few modules in that list? (up to 2.800MHz only)

Is this because this MB is quite new and they didn't have the time to test all the modules?

If yes, with Broadwell-e and Corsair's dominator modules, could I have my RAM at 3333MHz up and running without OC the CPU and the BCLOK and only selecting the XMP profile in the UEFI?

Thank you guys!

I am not familiar with corsair modules for a few years now, but i do know Gskill modules work fine with these boards.

these modules are tested and are on the Gskill QVL list
F4-3200C14Q-32GTZ 4x8GB
F4-3200C14Q-32GTZSW 4x8GB
F4-3333C16Q-32GTZB 4x8GB
F4-3333C16Q-32GTZSW 4x8GB
F4-3400C16Q-32GTZSW 4x8GB

ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10 (Broadwell-E CPU Only)
ROG STRIX X99 GAMING (Broadwell-E CPU Only)
X99-A II (Broadwell-E CPU Only)
X99-DELUXE II (Broadwell-E CPU Only)

I'm using the F4-3200C14Q-32GTZ atm with the RE10 and they work flawless even at a command rate 1T on a 6900K
only after applying the Xmp watch the Vccsa voltage mine went up from default 0.887 v to 1.350 v , but after putting a - offset of 0.001 it wen down to 0.987 v and that is stable.

The QVL list of the ASUS Strix X99 Gaming , you could take a look there i think it is pretty save that whatever works on that board should work on the RE10 but i can't confirm that..

Hey, Thanks for the answer!

I did order already this Corsair modules: CMD32GX4M4C3000C15

DDR4 3000MHz 4x8GB

I choose this ones over the 3.333 because of the timings which are: 15-17-17-35 (and trying to now having to push the CPU too much)

Hope I made a good choice, and with the Asus Rampage V Edition 10 I could just use the XMP profile and run them at 3k with those timings in 1.35v

Interesting... I just thought on that kit F4-3200C14Q-32GTZ but he is for Z170 platform... It's nicer because red color.
And this kit should be perfect for X99, F4-3200C14Q-32GTZSW. But you say other work nice on REV10. That's nice to know.
These two kits are interesting for me but I have no some special need for 32GB...Maybe and I aboard to Rampage Black ship soon.
From beginning I hope that ASUS will launch Black board for my platform for longer period. They only need to launch Poseidon later black.
That would be my dream system RV10THE, Poseidon in Black color and Predator 240.
But today is very easy to mod shroud of graphic cards...Never mind it would be nice to ASUS consider some black, titanium or similar Poseidon.
Compatible with Maximus VIII and for RV10THE and X99 Strix.

I actually changed my mind, and after some testing I will be returning my Corsair's and get the G.Skill F4-3200C14Q-32GTZ. I found the kit for 200€ which is 100€ cheaper then the Corsair 3000 with way better latency even at 3.200MHz.

I'll be getting them next week and I'm pretty sure they'll work out of the box with XMP in my Rampage V Edition 10

Just remember that anything past DDR4-2400 is technically overclocking and will vary from CPU to CPU, XMP or otherwise.

I have the Corsair Dominator Platinum Special Editions 3200Mhz 4x8gb RAM kit. After a little work I got it to finally work at the 3200Mhz XMP level. I would love to be able to run this at 3400 but so far no go. I've tried multiple settings and the moment I put it over the 3200 Mhz mark I get the good old 'b4' error. It isn't a big deal really and I can work on getting timings down but according to the spec sheet several other ram kits can run at 3400Mhz.

I have the corsair vengance CMU32GX4M4C3400C16R *2 KITS = 64GB , running at 3400 Mhz with no issues if this helps.

I'm assuming your just running a standard Xmp profile with normal timings and voltage? What are they if i may ask?
