Your CPU is at 4.2GHz and cache is just over 3.9GHz...north bridge clock is cache frequency...

Yes, correct. Forgot that it changed at that point (BCLK oc).

LOL...the joys of overclocking....some days it's like that...know it well.

3866 at C14 is nice!

Yeah, Broadwell E they pretty much removed cache OC...certainly don't get the freedom you got on Haswell E.

Good Palm Sunday to you too!:)

Well, on 5960X cache needs some serious juice for overclock. I need 1.3V on cache for 4.2GHz, but CPU at the same time works stable at 4.2GHz with 1.15V. Not sure if cache oc helps as much as it asks for effort.

It definitely does not...not worth the hassle and voltage...depends on the CPU of course, as always..some are better than others for this...

mode 2 is the best for me i7 5930k
I can crank up the cache but i need more cache volts
my cpu can do 4.6 but at 1.35 volts need a custom water loop for that
the cost for 100mhz not worth it

my Gskill ripjaws 4 are holding the cache back
asus bios updates have improved performance on the memory speeds in aida 64
still on the 3701 bios
3801 you could lower the cache volts a little
