Hi Everyone
I have an Asus X99-A/USB 3.1 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard (BIOS 4101) in my pc. I have a 2TB WD Black drive that is starting to fail. It has bad sectors. I have used fdisk a couple of times already and CrystalDiskInfo shows the Health Status as Caution.
I want to replace it with a 4TB SSD and eventually do the same with some 1TB HDDs that are fine now as well as some of the other HDDS with 8TB HDDs.
What is the HDD/SDD size limit an X99-A/USB 3.1 board can support? Can it support at least 4TB SSDs and is there a size limit? 8TB HDDs? If so, I plan to have 2 4TB SSDs, 2 8TB HDDs in a RAID 0 config (maybe) and 2 1TB that are in there now for in case I need them. This board has 8 SATA ports and 2 SATA express ports.
Crucial shows 4TB SSD drives that are compatible with my board.

B&H shows similar info for my board for both SSD and HDD.

I think I should be good but wanted to get some input. I contacted ASUS Tech Support and I am getting the runaround.
Also I do not have any drives connected to the SATA Express ports. Should I use those 2 ports? Do they connect to the CPU or through PCH?
Thanks
Brian
