Quick OC question about CPU Cache voltage

Hey all,

I never understood this relationship with the CPU voltage. If I have my CPU voltage at 1.30V, what are the 'guidelines' for the CPU Cache Voltage? I have seen some people say it should be .5 less or .5 more. Some even say it should be matching but I haven't seen a reason why?

So if I have the CPU Core Voltage at 1.30 should the CPU Cache Voltage ideally be:
1. 1.25
2. 1.35
3. 1.30

Should it normally be less or more than the CPU core voltage?

Just a bit confused.

CPU Cache Voltage will require what it will to run stable at the frequency that you want it to run at. Just make sure you don't exceed 1.35V.

No rule that I know of for cache voltage to be the same or strictly related to core voltage.

If you are leaving cache on auto then auto volts is fine and will be a lot less than 1.3v

If you OC cache treat it like core voltage and find what runs stable...no need to run parity between core and cache for frequency either...

Well that helped some. I'm not sure exactly what it does but I moved it down to 1.3v and left my core CPU at 1.35. It actually became more stable. I was at 1.325 for the Cache and couldn't get 4.5GHz stable. Moving it down.. Boom. Stable!

Some voltages are more sensitive than others. Sometimes too much can be a bad thing. 😉
