phanteks enthoo primo fan controller stack at max speed

Hello all,

I am trying to setup the fan controller that came with my case (phanteks enthoo primo), but no matter what configuration I try the fans are always stack to max RPM. I RMA the fan controller, but testing at supplier site showed no problems suggesting my motherboard.

Does any of you guys had any expiriance with it?

For reference, I connect the fan controller to the CPU fan header and power it up over the SATA cable (tried any other header as well with the same results).

Thanks!

Have you tried connecting a single fan to the CPU header to see if you have control over it? Leave the fan controller alone for now.

Yes a single fan work if i directly connect it to the header.

Um, i have the same case using the case hub in the CHA_FAN1A with no problems. (I use CPU Fan connector for my CPU cooler)
That hub also has a molex connector. ( only to be used if the fan connector you have it plugged into does not supply enough power to run all fans desired) By any chance, have you hooked up both, that molex connector along with the cpu header wire?

I have connected the sata power connector because I want to run more than 2 fans from the hub.
For testing I gave it a go without connecting the power cable and only connecting one fan and that worked.

Did you try with the sata power connected to the hub, if it still works?

Hello, IDK if you tried this; it's quite elementary. Scroll down in the "monitoring" tab in your BIOS and about 3/4 down you will see some options to adjust Q-fan settings. Like I said you pry already tried it but I thought I'd try to help.....

Thanks Radeson,
I tried PWM and DC in the Q-fan settings, nothing really worked

I have the same board and the same case.
All I've done is switch DC to PWM in the Q-Fan controls. You need to click on the graph then hit apply. Do you have it plugged into the CPU FAN header?

Hi Klunty,
I did the change over the Q-fan section under the monitor tab. Will try it again through the Q-fan screen (F6) and post the results.

Unfortunately it did not work. It was already at PWM mode.
Yes it is plugged in the CPU header.
