try removing the mains power and then checking the cable connection, if that fails and you can't apply the firmware again then it is bricked.

Yep - what GoNzO said. Mine was showing all 0's and it was the data cable that was loose. The socket seems a bit fragile, and while in and out of the case I must have bumped it.

Did u use the so called front base driver? And if yes, your panel is not bricked. U just need to flash the correct firmware. Its the so called front panel driver.

 that was the problem

I feel daft for asking this... but finding documentation on the OC Panel has, well, been challenging. Is there any? I too installed the front base driver - which, and at some point I think something flashed it I think. What utility is supposed to be used to flash the OC Panel with the OCPanel_II_0107 bin?

W10 Pro x64 OC Panel Firmware update
I do not see this firmware update at the Asus site.

are you guys refering to the included OC panel with R5E or the OC panel front base that you can buy?

I am referring to the included "OC Panel II" that comes with the M8E...

But I did make some progress. I was looking for the drivers etc. in the M8E section - after all, it came with the M8E. While the flashing file is there (an update), I ended up only finding the flashing utility when looking under Windows 8.1 64 and under the Motherboard Accessory "OC Panel". I crossed my fingers and it worked... and no it is no longer dead.

Of course now I am just wondering why I cared... it is fairly limited as a front panel...
