OC Panel 4 pin fan headers

I am in the process of changing my 2 X 360mm rads for 2 x 480 and have a problem / issue.
I currently run my radiators 6x120mm (4 pin) PWM fans off my motherboard. I'm left with 1 spare, as the CPU_OPT is used for the Phanteks PWM controller for 5 X 140mm case fans.
I noticed that in the OC Panel there are 4 more 4 pin headers, can these be used while the OC panel is installed in the case?
If so will they show up in AI Suite?
If they can't be connected can somebody please point me in the right direction for a controller that I can connect 8 X 120mm 4 pin fans to.

you can run 4 fans off one header with a pwm splitter cable, just run each rad off one header. If you worry about overloading if you have a bunch of delta fans you can get molex/sata powered splitters as well that have a pwm and rpm for the 4 pin motherboard headers, but tbh you will be hard pressed to overload it with most fans x4

I use a 3 way version of this on my video card http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/121769868011?adgroupid=13585920426&hlpht=true&hlpv=2&rlsatarget=aud-1...

Hello

Swiftech 8-way PWM splitter work fine on the R5E.

Simple answer is to try them and see, so long as its not your CPU fan its not going to hurt to try.

Personally I've not tried the OC panel, I'm old school and well I use its USB header for my Pump, and I've yet to get a Y splitter for the USB header yet.

But as the board comes with 8 Fan headers on the board unless I'm misreading whats the problem?

Yes.

No. They will always run at 100% though.

That's what I was hoping would not happen.
Thanks all for replies I'm gonna see if I can find some splitter cables, seems the much easier and also cheaper option.

Thanks for help and advice. I bought the Phobya PWM 8x 4Pin Splitter Box.
But now have a question. As I wont be able to connect this to the CPU header and I have the Phanteks PWM on the CPU_OPT header how can I get the board from throwing a wobbler about no cpu fan connected?
