Simple thing to check is whether the PCI lane switches are all in the on position. Top right on the board.

Seems like I saw something about people using PCIe lane 2 due to oversized CPU coolers, but I can't remember exactly.

All lanes work properly, I had SLI and a PhysX card before that. The only problem is when I use a single card on any other slot than the first one - I get no signal if I do that.
Disable the lanes above the slot you have your GPU inserted , If your card is in slot 2, disable slot 1, if it is in slot 3, disable 1 and 2, at least that is how it works if you have multiple GPU's and are testing them seperatly

Menthol, I had cards on SLi, I don't currently. I mentioned this to indicate that all lanes are functional. Should I try to shut off the lanes before the lane my card is installed on?
