Unlike Win8 Win7 cannot be copied from the install disk to a USB stick without a bit of preparation for booting in UEFI mode. This is interesting, on principle i agree with you, but since Rampage IV i i'm installing W7 on Raid0 or AHCI with Secure Boot enabled, without any issues. Even the Optimized Defaults consider Sec. Boot enabled.
