Loosing Ch.B ram

Hi,

RVE 1701 BIOS
5960x
G.Skill 3600c16 b-die (running quad)

Any boot 3250 up and i loose Ch.B when timings manual. (125 strap)

Whilst logging in here i changed to 167 to test below 3250.

Into bios on 3110 and i've now lost Ch.A & C.

Thoughts?

Hello Doug

That's some super high speed ram and I'd like to see you get it running at its rated specs. You'll need to raise the vccio and cpu system agent voltages to have any chance of getting it stable.

Try VCCIO - 1.20v - 1.25v
Cpu system agent voltage 1.20v - 1.30v
CPU input voltage 1.90v (not vcore)

If your ram is 1.35v set the Dram voltage to 1.40v.

Let us know if this helps you.

It won't run at its rated xmp speed on x99.

It'll need more than 1.4 vdimm for 3400 c12!

Yep, I know the difference between input and core v. 😉

Pretty familiar tuning mem but loosing channel is a new one on me. Especially one channel on 125 and two different channels on 167.

When the ram is not stable it's not uncommon for it to lose recognition, you'll need to do some tweaking for sure.

Did those settings help at all or at least get you closer to 3600MHz? The rampage v extreme supports ram speeds up to 3300MHz and can go beyond if you have a cpu with a good IMC but 3600MHz might be pushing it.

I'm sure you're tweaking it now so give us an update. 🙂
