Exactly what I need for my R5E build. It's for work stuff, mostly, and it will make good use of bigger and faster physical RAM (and to be honest I don't actually own all the enterprise-leased hardware components) - but hell yeah it's a dominant beast when I feel like I wanna game!

Alas, those biggish heatspreaders look like they'll be problematic with my huge air cooler. And I'm a little apprehensive about mucking around from scratch because I've already achieved a modest yet absolutely stable overclock.

Amazing timings from what we have seen so far on DDR4, hope this is a sign we will see even lower timings on kits of less density

Hey Menthol,

Indeed! And what i like is that the next intel's extreme gen is for X99 so my guess is that we'll see new ripjaw V kits for x99 instead of z170 (like early versions).

Avenger,
I hope so 2, X99 memory should really catch up when the Broadwell-E chips are released, it's supposed to have a better IMC

I can't determine the part number or chip density used on this kit. Single-sided (8x2) or double-sided (16x2) per DIMM? Anyone got pics without heatspreaders yet?

I agree with Menthol on his comment, I own a 2800Mz 128GB kit from GSk and I did set them up manually to 2800 Mhz cause the XMP wont go for it at less on my motherboard with Bios 2001. But the results at 2800 vs the 2666, I can get better results at 2666 then 2800.

My humble opinion is to wait like Menthol have mention or if you really want to have that kind of memory kit make sure your CPU and I mean the memry controller is a strong one, cause you will need it and don't expect peaches and cream with XMP cause its not going to happen, don't get frustrated it and don't blame the memory kit. This kit it will have to run on 125 Strap and 125 blck so strap on your self to the journey, good luck. My kit needs to be set @ 2800 mhz w/ 127 strap and 125 black, need also to set the Boot voltage to 1.410 and eventual voltage to 1.360 or 1.370 volt w/ 4.5Ghz CPU clock and 4.0 Ghz cache.

Hey Veterant,

Yes the point of the thread was only to point that G.skills and other brand will have no choice to make new X99 memory certified products since the new Broadwell-E cpus (6950x etc) will be for the X99 platform. Waiting would be the best choice indeed. There's no doubt that new products are coming and they are going to take advantage of the 6950X new imc which supports ddr4-2400mhz natively from what i've read in a couple of reports. From early information, i'd guess that the new 6950x's IMC will be a little bit stronger than Haswell-E cpus. Much easier to work with :D..

I love because GSkill produce kits with 15-15-15, 16-16-16, not 15-17-17 and advertised as 2800 C15 example.
I like AVEXIR Red Tesla ROG Certified kit, I mean for my R5E I would be happiest with 4x8GB AVD4UZ126661508G-4RDROG kit.
No matter on brand inside is Samsung, Micron or Hynix... 2666 15-15-15... :).
They could improve PC interior. And Dominator Platinum look great inside my PC.

Nice from your stand point of view, I just want to add up my experience with my kit noting else, and just cause its a new CPU Broadwell 6950X it doesn't mean that their is going to be bad bad bad sample of CPU and IMC's cpu so just keep that in mind for those that are willing to give it shot to the 128GB memory kit CLUB, are you one of those guys, Welcome.
