Intel 750 pcie SSD

Just letting you know it works like a champ, stuck it in the bottom pcie slot, put the driver on a usb stick as I installed Win 7 so I needed to install the driver during installation, install went kind of slow but without any issue on bios 1401. It also came with a back plate on it un-like the models seen in the reviews so it looks better not seeing the components on the back of the card

Any considerations on making the choice between PCIe SSD and regular SSD form factor connection through M2 with hyperkit? I know lane allocation on PCIe is concern for multi-gpu and potential heat issues if using next to hot GPUs. The random doc I've seen says bandwidth is the same. Any other thoughts on this? MB is RVE per this thread.

I'm running Intel 400GB with hyperkit and stats are pretty much the same as the pcie.

If possible, you should grab the PCIe variant. Depending on the size of your GPU, the Hyper Kit might get in the way of the GPU installed in the first PCIe slot.

Got mine in and my 2 980s are still x16. The bios sees the drive, but it is not compatible with the secure erase feature in the bios. Hopefully, a future bios revision will recognize the drive in secure erase if the user needs it. I like using secure erase in the bios off and on to reinstall windows. Intel SSD toolbox is not fully functional with the current 3.2.3 version. That has to be updated too. Very fast, but still just messing with it right now.

What's odd about the SSD toolbox is that at guru3d and thessdreview the reviewers had a new version of the toolbox available 3.3.0, but Intel doesn't have that version at their site. ?? Intel recommends using their SSD data center tool, dos based. ??

Secure erase does not seem compatible with M.2 or pcie drives

That SSD data center tool has a dos command that erases the drive.

I got my hands on a SM951 the AHCI model and installed Win 7 on it, partitioned the 750 in half and installed 8.1 on it, now I have no SATA drives on my board, yippee. With the M.2 drive installed I left the 750 in pcie slot #4 to see if it would be compatible, they work really good together in this configuration, in actual use I can't distinguish the difference, I want to get the NVMe version of the Samsung as soon as I can get my hands on one.
