intel 750 and rampage v

Hi,
Just wondering if the Intel 750 works on the rampage v. I hear its bootable and would love this beast on the motherboard.
I'm doing a complete system rebuild and want to use the v board as i have a 3 now. I see the hyper drive adapter for the sabretooth and wonder if its compatible with the rampage.

From what I've read it sounds like all current ROG boards will support it through a driver update. I've heard the PCIe version performs better, but I don't know if the Hyper Drive adapter does anything to mitigate any difference. http://www.anandtech.com/show/9090/intel-ssd-750-pcie-ssd-review-nvme-for-the-client

Compatible motherboards http://www.intel.com/support/ssdc/hpssd/ssd-750/sb/CS-035484.htm
Yes it should work fine with the latest bios from ASUS that has NVMee support.

Yes, it will be usable if you go with a 2.5" drive and the Hyper Kit. The info on the front page says it is fully qualified to run on the entire ASUS X99 range of boards.

The Hyper kit does "work" on the R5E, but will obstruct some VGA cards in the primary PEG slot.

Thanks all for the replies i'm going to get the rampage 5 board, 17 5930,16 gb gskill ripjaws 4 3000 , nzxt kraken x61 cooler, and a 980 gpu.
Not sure which version just yet. I already have a 1200 psu,and i'm going to get the intel 750 as a boot drive. Still up in the air for a case. I'm using an older antec that has seen better days.I'll get the bulk soon and the rest later.
It's going to be a project of mine while the spouse is away visiting the outlaws.
Upgrading from a 17 920 (3.6 OC) (could never get it stable any higher)with 12 gb of ram and 2 6970's in crossfire.(one just died recently).

I came from a SSD'd 920 at 4ghz and this is so much faster, case wise I would look at the corsair range maybe? I am still using a 800D and love it.

Where does the 2.5 750 connect to the motherboard. It must take the place on the m.2 slot? Can a strix 980 fit in the first slot with this 750 hyper installed?

I can answer half your questions. Yes, the 2.5" variant connects via the M.2 slot. An add in board the ASUS Hyper Kit, provides a mini SAS connector for the connection. The Intel 750 comes with the necessary cable for the connection to the kit.
