hard drive configuration? intel 750?

just upgraded to an x99 build and I'm trying to plan my storage options, need to have as many drives as possible, but don't want to buy more than I can use... so mainly wondering if any experts can tell me what I can and can't do.

what I hope I can get:

2 intel 750 SSD(add in or 2.5)
12 Samsung evo

but I don't know if using m2 uses up sata ports, or if using a pci card turns off a sata controller, or if I can slam all 12 sata ports up but can only use 1 pcie 750... or only use 10 sata 6g and 1 m.2 ssd...

I don't 100% have to have intel SSD's but if I can get a pair, awesome... if I'm limited to one, does the m.2 hyper kit thingy eat up sata slots? worst case scenario, I have 2 1tb evo's now, I could just get 10 more, but if I can improve my OS drives as well as keeping a large array of drives, might as well!

I know it sounds weird, that I should have went with the WS board - but I wanted to go R5E, but i'd like to make the most of it... I'm using a 5960x, if that makes some sort of difference... and no, I'm not doing any sort of raid with these, the best performance is splitting it all up between as many drives as possible... I'm doing audio work and loading large sample libraries into ram is a possibility, but I'd like to see how far I can go with SSD's before I have to load them into ram... but basically - loading 2 instruments from 1 raided SSD is worse than loading 1 instrument on each SSD, so the more drives and evenly distributed - the more you can run without getting audio dropouts/artifacts... and I don't feel like loading 100+ gigs of samples into my ram everytime I load up a project XD

Oooo can anyone confirm this? So I could use a 750 add in and then keep 12 ssds?
