I try to force it to engage in software. still doesn't work. So I decided to take a look at all the pins make sure all of the contacts are clean and the gold is as shiny as can be and then I see this guy67790

Can this U2 housing come off or am I going to have to sand it down to fit my 1080 classified in slot 3? Running it in slot 2 I might as well got reference. I have NOT gotten out the calipers to determine the exact needed acrylic to remove but before I start voiding warrantys.... Suggestions on the housing removal?
. Thanks!

If your Vid card hits the U.2 socket it is probably not seating fully on the other end of the card, check where the card screws to the case it is not allowing the card to seat evenly, there are many threads here about this issue on many motherboards, it has never been the motherboard, they are built to strict pecifications

Hey guys, so I know what you are saying with the whole ATX spec they have to place and have required clearance throughout the entire mobo.

So I guess that raises a question do GPU makers (evga) have Same spec with cards they clearly make much larger than the FE or OEM from Nvidia. In my case the 1080FTW sli. Giant things. But now... thinking about it and looking at the design. It seems they don't make space and size changes on the bus side. Which clearly it's hitting. Like the classified seems like the rest, to have their footprint extend outward. On the face side rather than the bus side.. I think taking between both out. Checking pins etc cleaning slots gritting the safe leverage vertical down force. AND NOT INSTALLING HORIZONTAL. I believe is likely the issue. 900d and back problems don't mix well. Haha. I will let you guys know when u get it up on a table flat and get that solid click engagement sound.
