The ASUS support page for the RVE

i did some switching around the rear ports work fine with both speakers or headphones but it only detects the headphones as speakers in the rear. but the front panel stays silent.
the sound stage area is greyed out when i have my headphones in the rear and speakers in front.
or when just the speakers are plugged in when i plug my headphones in the front with the speakers in the rear sound stage turns on for the front but i get no sound.

sonic studio works fine.

Did you enable Sonic Soundstage by pressing the Soundstage button on your motherboard? If you haven't, do that first and then open up Realtek Audio Manager and click on the Sonic Studio tab and click on the (hexagon shape) Sonic Studio - see what happens

Also in the Sonic Soundstage tab, click on the buttons to see if anything is coming up.

front panel normally has 2 connections, legacy and HD inputs, have you plugged in the correct one and selected it in the bios?

it say HD audio on the plug and it is set to HD in the audio manager witch is also the bios default according to the manual but i will take a look in to the bios to make sure.

Check for bent/dislodged/missing or pins wired wrong while you are there, obviously not plugged into the wrong place as it is acknowledged an input. Not the 1st time I bought or fitted a product wired wrong or a pin loose.

In Windows Audio Devices, what does it say for the 'Realtek High Definition Audio' Properties for Jack Information? I put mine to the front panel and is showing up as Front Panel.
