I notice that as well. I hate mostly when time for upgrade arrive and you need to sell such hardware because he bring you a lot of money necessary for next upgrade.
This motherboard same as GTX980Ti Matrix Gold is to have one owner whole life. Not someone to pay you as normal 980Ti and X99 motherboard.
Box is great. But I would like to ASUS keep and box for Formula and Extreme series same as last several years and for next generation.
They didn't change from 2010 and they should not change. Same package, transparent, heavy with thick cardboard and two cardbox inside...
Box could stay red even if hardware is black inside, or they could change on black, both versions are good.
But this was expected and everyone should know ASUS will realase premium Rampage black board with USB 3.1 2x Type A, 2xType C on back side (perfect USB 3.1 option),
two LANs, RGB, nice heatinks with ROG Logo, 4 strip header, CPU Pin protector, even DIMM Switch now you could disable DIMM slots if you use only 4 :)...metal reinforced slots,
10 SATA III Ports, not 8, not 12, exactly 10... NICE!... U.2 as well... All of this things are important and improvement over Rampage V Extreme...
I feel so bad because they didn't launch this board earlier on winter 2014/2015... I sit with smiley on face whole time looking and reading features on this motherboard...:) xaxaaa.

If someone sell right now Rampage V Extreme could give for example 300$ without OC Panel.
If someone buy used board he will maybe don't need that and you can keep OC Panel for Rampage V 10th Edition.
But functions of board are more important, 50% of people will not need even Front Audio Converter.
I know board will be good, but didn't expect so good. They changed few important things and shield for back ports is nicest on market.
They should build and 10 phases... Not because board really need...;) because it's 10th edition, 10 phases, 10 SATA III Ports,... But OK, that's not important.
I found more video clips... On video clips board is much much nicer than on picture... that mean in reality is even better.
