Do i need to connect both the 12V 8 pin and 4 pin power connectors?

just about to put in the power connectors in the R5E. ive connected the 24pin but I notice there is an 8 pin as well as a 4 pin near the CPU side of the board. do I just connect one 8 pin or do connect both 8 and 4 pin power connectors????

I currently have them both connected, but I did try booting without the 4-pin when I was having problems. I think it's there for pushing higher voltages and current during overclocking, but it doesn't hurt to have it connected.

The 8 pin power connector is a must. The extra 4 pin is optional but highly recommended to populate it as well if your PSU has that extra cable.
