Computer keeps booting to BIOS no matter what I do… please help

Hi there,
So yesterday I successfully swapped out my case and upgraded my pc and everything was working fine

Today I bootup and it says there is a problem with windows and to launch windows repair or reboot so I clicked reboot and now I can't get past the bios and I am completely stuck, I've loaded defaults and tried to reboot but still straight to the bios

No error messages appear. I even took it all apart and put it all back together checking all connections and it's all connected…
Any one know what I need to do?

Well, if you have a need for 64GB RAM I presume you have some professional work...which would probably be better run on a single binned kit of 64GB. Problems are quite likely unless your CPU IMC is very strong.

It is a lottery and the larger the amount the higher the frequency the more likely you lose...

Hey mwe3302....I really don't think so...nothing noticeable...pretty sure speed of your storage device is biggest influence on that and then maybe speed of RAM.... but RAM speed and size over a certain minimum will have negligible impact.

You already have 32GB which is a large amount I don't think any difference in loading times would be apparent with 64GB

I'm all for doing what ever the heck you want with your system don't get me wrong...but I do think more than 16GB might be needed for image editing huuuge files or special CAD projects....32 GB probably has you covered for that even....64GB is heading for one in a million use cases if you know what I mean and in the case of mixing kits might make things a whole lot worse than better...

🙂

well I wouldn't be mixing Kits, I would be getting the same exact kit that I put in the first time

Sorry mwe3302 but this is a common misconception. Even if you get the "same" kit you can likely have problems. I put the same in inverted commas because even the same make and model kits that come of the line the same day may be incompatible...often kits have different version numbers which means that the chips are entirely different...maybe same primary timings but maybe different secondary tertiary etc. etc.

one kit is binned to work together it is not guaranteed to work with another kit which might be binned but binned differently.

Depending on what programs you use, once you have enough memory for all the background processes more memory doesn't help, here's a 4 vs 8 vs 16 comparison
We all probably have more RAM than we need, some of the new kits with the better chips (the new Samsung B-die) are only being sold on 8GB or 16GB modules, the 3200 mhz CL14, which i run at CL13, I also tried this kit using XMP without any issues, some people do say they get higher RB scores using a Ramdisk, I have had mixed results myself not proving either way, a fast drive probably loads a game faster, but maybe if you have your game files on a Ramdisk or using some RamCache software may help, but then your just muddying the waters, keep things simple

I don't mean to highjack the OP thread so maybe a different SSD would be better for me than the Sandisk 240gb one I got from best buy would suit me better?
