Computer keeps booting to BIOS no matter what I do… please help

Hi there,
So yesterday I successfully swapped out my case and upgraded my pc and everything was working fine

Today I bootup and it says there is a problem with windows and to launch windows repair or reboot so I clicked reboot and now I can't get past the bios and I am completely stuck, I've loaded defaults and tried to reboot but still straight to the bios

No error messages appear. I even took it all apart and put it all back together checking all connections and it's all connected…
Any one know what I need to do?

Check your boot priority is OK...i.e. windows boot manager is option 1 if you have that or the OS disk is up first etc.

Everything is in the correct order but nothing 😕

From your first post I would run the windows repair from the windows installation disk if you have one or try reinstalling windows altogether.

If it has the installer it might, I can't say for sure as I use the disk and an optical drive but either way if it doesn't and it's not too big of a deal you could just try a reinstall.

I hooked up my old optical drive and inserted the disk but I can't boot it it just goes to the bios everytime

What windows are you using? Do you have this same version windows on another machine? You can use a USB drive as a install or repair device, you just go to the bios boot section and UEFI boot from that device. If you are using Windows 10 you can also get the tool to create install media and use that to boot from and repair. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 click where is says download tool now. You can run all the repairs from that or reinstall your OS all together if you need to.

OK, good to hear...

Keep an eye on it....as has been said mixing RAM kits can lead to instability and sometimes to corruption of OS or programs etc.

Much better to get a single kit of whatever size you want...binned to work together quad channel.

Fingers crossed 🙂

I honestly didn't think it would cause an issue as it's the same that's why I only got 16 when I built it
Hopefully it's okay now
Lessons learned I guess
