Boot Initially Worked, Now No Power to GPUs, No Display, Q Code b1/bd

Brand new build. At first, everything powered on and was able to get into BIOS (had OC failure issue on first boot, did not attempt to OC, was able to boot from SSD by manually doing so). I was able to swap over some older HDDs/SSDs and boot into Win 7. I then installed Win 8.1 and then this problem started happening. The machine powers on, but the GPUs do not have power to them (LEDs do not light up and the fans do not start) and I have no display to both monitors. I am getting Q Code b1 and was getting Q Code bd previously.

I tried switching RAM around, using just 1 stick, 2 sticks, 3 sticks, then 4 sticks to no avail. I also attempted with 1 GPU. I even unplugged EVERY PSU connector and reseated all connectors.

**EDIT** When I was able to get the sytem working upon intial boot/windows instillation, the BIOS only detected 12 GB of ram and that the 2nd slot (b1) was not being detected. With taking sticks out and placing them in various locations, I still get no power to GPUs and no display to monitors.

I'll take my Corsair HX 850 out of my old rig later and attempt it, its currently being used ATM. Thanks for the fast reply/suggestion. Out of curiosity and to gain more knowledge in this field, how would a PSU swap fix the problem?

Hey!

If your PSU is defective it can create all kinds of errors including not sending enough juice to parts of you mobo so you get stuck with unstable system. If you have a good PSU you'll have manu "rails" so you could try different rail combination in case one rail is deffective and not the WHOLE psu.

Thanks
