BIOS 1 not working Qcode 00 loop? Any ideas how to fix without RMA?

I have a few month old RVE running 1401 bios and was working flawlessly but I copied BIOS 2 to BIOS 1 and now BIOS 1 is screwed, when i power on I get Q-code 00 then it restarts and 00 again then just loops. Ive tried clearing the CMOS, Ive tried USB FlashBack from 1401 on usb and ive tried to copy BIOS 2 to BIOS 1 again nothing works. Do you think it could be a faulty BIOS chip, I really dont want to remove the BIOS 2 chip as thats working and I really dont want to RMA as I need my PC for work and pleasure and it would take to long to return and get replacement. So would replacing the BIOS 1 chip void the warantee? Its just they do seem to be removable so was thinking that this would be OK and worth a try, if i can find a replacement that is. If I find one is is just a matter of fitting it then flashing from USB again?

If anyone has had a similar problem or has any ideas for me to try out to resolve the BIOS 1 fault id love to hear from you.

Yes, the BIOS chip is removable. Check ASUS eStore or Ebay. They usually already come with the latest BIOS revision so there's no need to flash anything.

Hello I will try to help.
At first sorry for my bad english.

I have very similar problem like you.
What I do - flash new bios - ok.
Copy new bios from 1 to 2 - both bios dead and "00". ON/OFF loop.
What I try to repair - blond flash using USB method, clearing bioses, try to use bios2, bios1, truning off power totally and other methods.
Send mobo to RMA - I get new mobo.

Next mobo:
Flash new bios and do the same - copy 1 to 2 - mobo dead - "00".
Both of them again "00" and ON/OFF loop.

Now I have 3rd mobo.........when new bios arrive I only flash bios1 and not touching copying or not touching bios2.....................

There is one more you can do - I contacted asus service in my country and tell them about this. They say I can send only bios chip/chips to their service and they will check them and flash.

When I contacted Asus support they just told me i would have to RMA the board, I asked if they could replace the BIOS chip alone and they said no. I'll try again and ask if i can send them my chip to test, see what they say?

Unfortunately you cannot send just the BIOS chip. The whole motherboard needs to be RMAed.
