Best Testing Software?

Through searching there are a lot of opinions. What is the most popular OC stability testing software out there for cpu and memory both that won't damage my system?

jrmcdou very nice system you have. You can ask 100 people and get 100 answers for that question, Realbench, Aida 64, Intel XTU, 3D Mark, etc., etc., test with several and use the PC the way you normally use it, there are several guides here on the forums that are good reading, if it is stable day in and day out for what you use it for, wakes from sleep, etc., enjoy iy

OCCT found instability in my system that nothing else I was running (Realbench, XTU) could, and in only a few minutes. You do want to let it run for 2-3 hours for your final stability check though.

If you use Realbench, don't run the stress test, just run the benchmark 5+ times consecutively.

I've not tried prime95, but if you do, there's supposed to be an older version that is better than the most updated version.

For memory, run one instance of HCI memtest for each core/thread your CPU can handle, dividing your total memory up between them.

Was this a real instability or a false positive?

Hey,

CPU : Intel Burn-In Test
Memory : HCI Memtest with the method Qwinn said
GPU : EVGA OC Scanner with Furry E test.

That's about it.

Hey,

I'm new with aida64 so i do not know a lot about that program BUT what i can say about that program is that it is VERY good to monitor what you want and memory benchmarks.

AIDA64 is arguably the only stress tester that's safe and won't cook/degrade your CPU. It's the only one I use, along with ROG Real Bench and playing a few games.

By the way, all of these synthetic stress tests (LinX, Prime, AIDA, IBT etc.) are not nearly as useful as doing whatever it is you need your PC to do (gaming, and video editing in my case).

AIDA64 - System Stability Test (CPU, FPU, Cache, Memory)
Real Bench - Stress Test with Max Memory
Intel XTU - CPU and Memory Stress Test

They are enough for Stability Testing.
All of them should be run 1-2h example not longer.

I believe it was true instability. When I took steps to find a better OC, other issues went away.
