Hello,
Just finished upgrading to windows 11 yesterday. I have a rampage V extreme mobo.
having trouble with asus suite 3 and I would like to install it since I use fan expert to control the fans and I like it.
Is it possible to install the suite in windows 11? It was working in windows 10 so it should be possible.
Is there the need to use a diferent install? use some utility to clean completely the migrated suite from win 10 and then install again?
I would appreciate very much help on this. and links to the software if possible
Thank you in advance
Paulo

AiSuite3 also runs on Windows 11.
BUT: install the suite as administrator, i.e. right-click on the installer and select "run as administrator".
In Windows 11, be sure to deactivate "Memory Integrity" under "Core Isolation" in Settings-Windows Security, otherwise AISuite3 will no longer run and you will get an error message.
Then look for "AISuite3.exe" and look at the properties of the file. There you go to the "Compatibility" tab and here at the very bottom you select "Change settings for all users". There you put a check mark next to "Run program as administrator" and save it.
Now AISuite3 should run reliably for you too.
In addition, Microsoft has removed various ways of bypassing the compatibility check in Windows 11 24H2, which will be released soon. So Windows 11 should definitely support your hardware. If not, you will have no choice but to buy new hardware.

Hello Inge70 thank you for the reply.
Do you have a link for "aisuite 3" download at hand? I have a Rampage V extreme dont know if compatibilitay is transversal to all Mobos.
I would like to try with an installer that is working for sure since the one I have here is a tampered version for windows 10 second build I got here on these forums when the original one ceased to work with windows updating to the new build and someone worked around it...

Where exactly did you get your current version from and which version is it?
You can use the version that Asus offers for your motherboard, right:
https://www.asus.com/supportonly/rampage%20v%20extreme/helpdesk_download/
To do this, simply go to the support page for your motherboard and then open everything under Drivers/Utilities and download it accordingly. I don't know that there is a "manipulated" version here in the forum. Especially since what is there to be manipulated? AiSuite3 is freeware and does not require a license, just a compatible Asus motherboard.
The AiSuite3 from Asus for your motherboard is for Windows 10, so it should also run under Windows 11. But here the memory integrity must be deactivated for hardware security/core isolation, otherwise AiSuite3 will not run under Windows 11.
In addition, AISuite3 must be run as an administrator. I explained how to do this above.
Your Windows 11 should also not have been installed via bypass so that it can run with your hardware, because if you have used that, the next major update 24H2 will stop. Microsoft has deactivated this option of being able to install Windows 11 on incompatible hardware.
You cannot use current versions of AISuite3, which are included with current motherboards, because FanXpert is no longer included in current versions of ASUS AI Suite 3 V3.03.36. FanXpert is currently only available via ArmouryCrate, which is not available for your motherboard.
So you have to live with the old version of AISuite3 that Asus offers you as a download for your motherboard. If it doesn't work with Windows11, it will be difficult, because we don't know when FanXpert was removed from AISuite3.

Hello Inge70
This comes up when I try to install suite 3 (downloaded it from the official page yesterday for my specific mobo)
And yes I used the registry fix microsoft itself teaches to bypass the cpu incompatibility. CPU is the only part that is not compatible on my machine. Everything else is fine.
So what do you think about that asio.sys error ? Does it ring any bell to what is wrong?

The message only says that this file cannot be opened, which has probably been the case since Windows 11 22H2.
But still:
1) Check whether the file is on your PC using Explorer (just search for it)
2) Go to AISuite3.exe and right-click on it and select "Properties", here go to the "Compatibility" tab. At the bottom you will find "Settings" and here you put a check mark next to "Run program as administrator". Save everything and restart the PC.
If the message appears again, check whether you have deactivated "Memory Integrity" under "Settings/Privacy and Security" under "Windows Security" under "Device Security" (click on "Core Isolation Details" below) and here under "Core Isolation".
This does not work with AiSuite3.
However, if the error message appears again, then this old version of AISuite3 does not run with Windows 11.
A more recent version would be 3.00.51, which according to the forum reddit should run with Windows 11.
If it does not work with that either, you can no longer use AiSuite3 on your Windows 11, as the current version 3.03.36 (can be found in the download area of various current Asus motherboards) no longer has FanXpert integrated, as it has been delivered with ArmouryCrate for a long time. However, ArmouryCrate should not work with your motherboard.
You write that you used the registry hack for Windows 11 to be able to install it. Microsoft has blocked this and other hacks in the upcoming Windows 11 24H2, so that Windows 11 can no longer be installed on unsupported hardware in this way. I don't know whether your system will continue to run after the update.
You should probably think about slowly upgrading your hardware so that everything works properly again.

I was searching about the 24h2 upgrade and old processors and I think I am lucky enough since my cpu supports popcnt instructions so I should be safe.
I hope so since im running win 11 flawlessly apart for some minor little things that needed tunning or reinstalling.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything works the way you want it to.
But you can only test whether the old version of AISuite3 will run. If it doesn't work, you'll have to look for an alternative. For example, FanControl.
I didn't bother with this fiddling and sold my old hardware (I7-7700 non K + RAM, motherboard and GPU) last October and got new hardware (see signature). The old hardware was already 7 years old.

Been a long time since ive looked at fan control, its more appealing now, graphics have gone a long way, thank you for the suggestion.
Im going to start giving it a serious though on getting new hardware, ive been thinking on it for a while but for now ill hold on. Got a very old i7 5930K cpu dont start booing because im very shy. It still does was its supposed to with ease though...
what high end board would you suggest nowadays? rampage V Extreme has been top notch for me but i must start thinking about letting it go... its a big investment because I will need to buy everything at once, ram, cpu and board at least...

The successor to a Rampage V Extreme would be the Rog Rampage VI Extreme, which could then accommodate Core X-Series CPUs. That would then be a maximum of the Core i9-10900X - i9-10940X or an i9-10980XE. But everything is already from 2019 and is already starting to show its age.
As far as I know, there are currently no other successors from Intel.
But due to the current problems at Intel with the 13th and 14th generation, I would not resort to that and would rather wait until the new ArrowLakes and new mainboard chips appear and wait for tests there before you update your hardware.
Maybe then there will be workstation boards like your Rampage V Extreme with 8 RAM sockets again.
If you don't want to wait, then take a look at AMD.
