3000mhz RAM running at 2400mhz with XMP 3000mhz profile on

Hi All,

I found that if I turn on XMP and set it to the 3000mhz profile I still only get 2400mhz in Windows, also I find when benchmarking it seems to be even less at 1499.7mhz.

You can see my benchmark results here: http://rog.asus.com/realbench/show_comment.php?id=9775

Thanks in advance.

many programs list half the stated RAM speed....since the RAM is DDR double data rate. 3000/2 is ~1500 which is what you are seeing.

Use CPUz memory tab...maybe upload a pic here

for example my memory at 3200 says half that in CPUz
53043

Humm still doesn't explain why I'd get 2400mhz in Task manager

I'm quite new to RAM timings, although I don't think they are right... On the documentation for my RAM say's it should be CAS 15-17-17-35.

Can't see from that pic but anyway....I can safely say Windows does not know its a**e from it's elbow....I have just checked and have the same here....2400
53044

As I say, you would do best to download CPUz and check your configuration with that.;)

CPUz is on that image, it's just gone out of view... Try right clicking it and "Open image in new tab".

OK...so yeah you are running at 3000 but 17-22-22-40-2T

You set XMP right?

Maybe try setting up manually.

Set 3000 as Dram frequency and in DRAM section of bios enter 15-17-17-35-2T as primary timings. Also set voltage at 1.35

Your realbench result says the correct 15-17-17-35-2T?!

Your cache is clocked quite high...4.4GHz...what cache voltage has the board set? I say this since the board applies way too much voltage often...

I just get a blank screen until I press the MemoryOK button.

Can I ask setting what?

F5 defaults in BIOS followed by setting dram speed, primary timings and Vdimm?

Any code on the board....LEDs lighting up?

What RAM exactly...single kit of quad channel? What numbers letters code exactly

Clear your CMOS. Then check if your motherboard is running the latest BIOS. If not, update it to the latest revision. Once you're back in the BIOS, load your DDR4-3000 XMP profile again and just before you exit, you will see a dialog window that summarizes the changes to be saved. Take a screenshot and upload it here please.
