I can't get my sound to upmix with the on-board surpremeFX X-Fi chip. I couldn't get my creative suite to work. Any advice or tricks around it? I have 5.1 in games but thats it

Thinking of changing my laptop to 8 and was wondering if I'll lose bluetooth, wireless or anything. The windows 8 compatability program says i'd be okay but was wanting real life help or advice
