I've opened 10 (!!!) displays from September/October batches and they all had foam sticking in the bottom right corner just as the topic starter shows, so no, it's not a retailer issue.
Unfortunately Asus and Acer are still in the learning stages for IPS panels, whereas Samsung and LG have had experience with IPS for many years and know how to prevent the issues.Does not justify buying such an expensive display with assembly defects...

Looks much like mine. Getting a different one seems a huge lottery, the choice is yours. Currently it is more like a take it or leave it situation. Maybe further batches will be different, only time will show.
