This is not how it works, the display does not "focus" an application, or reads the fps.
As I said, "FPS Counter" is a somewhat misleading name. In reality it only shows the current refresh rate of the display (Hz), which SHOULD be the same as the FP...
And don't get me wrong, during the first firmware update, my USB hub broke on the display, making it impossible to install any further updates.
