I'm not so sure it's a factory issue, all the reviews and people here trying multiple laptops with the 275HX are showing similar temperatures, the CPU is just designed to boost all the time so it will run as high as possible.

That's a shame, what laptop did you get?
As to the old one, don't bin it as if it's fully working apart from the port someone might want to buy it for parts or to fix it. (unless you did a trade in option :))
