I don't have any issues running the drivers that are built in or available through Windows Update on my V Gene. I don't think any drivers are necessary from Asus.
In the reviews I've seen, LucidLogix Virtu MVP is a mixed bag, at best. I tried it myself and it wasn't worth the hassle. It didn't seem to increase performance over my 7950 by itself and it added compatibility issues that I had to beware of.

Yeah...and I used to have them prior to the latest BIOS updates. Have you tried resetting all the BIOS settings and starting from a clean slate (no o/c)?
