Not sure. E-mail support (customerloyalty@asus.com) might be able to give you a price estimate for the repair if you attach those pictures. Or maybe ask a third party repair shop for a repair price estimate.

Dang nice job finding that. Hopefully your RMA goes well.E-mail support got back to me for my issue with some troubleshooting web links. I'll go through them and if none of them help I'll have to file an RMA.
