I am having this issue, as well. I have 0902 and I can't flash 0706 with the Gene-Z.

I tried Asus Update and it just hangs at "downloading".I will have to get out the old USB boot disk, which is in a box somewhere.

Has anyone been able to flash this bios? I had the 0902 installed and it won't let me flash to the 0706 or any earlier version.
