For whatever reason, after an update of armory crate, I got out of the blue some sort of game or I really cant tell what it is, but I do not want things to run without my consent, specially without asking. Seriously WTH? Who decided to open stuff just like that? Can you remove this crap.? I use my computer for work. This is disruptive.

Seems like one can turn off this with "Festive Effects" on "Aura Effect". Asus software is a bunch of garbage, barely works. The only reason I keep Armoury Crate installed is that I can control the fan speed. Seriously eff off with this crap. Cant believe you decide is OK to open a game without asking, incredible. Is not cute, it's horrifying.

Dang, I just found this project https://github.com/seerge/g-helper is wonderful. It has everything.

I will provide feedback to the team regarding festive effects. Regarding G-Helper, it's important to mention that despite the number of subredditers who continue to refer others to G-Helper, they are not privy to the caveats associated. First and foremost, potential hardware damage is possible due to its power management, G-Helper does not know the exact specifications of our gaming notebooks and their power modes - such as Turbo Mode, etc. As such, it could either provide insufficient power, or overload the CPU and GPU which can cause hardware damage over time. On top of that, maximum performance and hardware security could be compromised. While some people welcome the simplicity of the solution, users testing this software should take this into consideration and make others aware of the potential dangers if they choose to recommend it, and install at their own risk.

Hi @MasterC
It is normal to warn about the risks of using software other than Armory Crate. But every software can have risks and even more so with overclocking software that many people use too.
You can understand that if Armory Crate wasn't so bad, people wouldn't look for a better alternative. You probably do the same thing for any of your software. 😉
Having to uninstall/reinstall AC to get things working is not normal behavior.
ASUS must offer a stable software solution, without unnecessary things and bugs with each update to keep its users.
And if you have any tips or suggestions for the Ghelper developer to improve security, I'm sure he'll be open to that. 🙂

If you are having any Armoury Crate issues, you may report them in the official thread here in the forum so that it can be resolved. If we have to, we will perform remote debugging. So far, we do not have any records of you reporting any issues.
V5.8.6.0 is rolling out today, the official issue-reporting thread will be open once everyone has received the update. Feel free to report any issues you may have.

Do you happen to know what are the power limits for a G713QR? I'm asking more out of curiosity than anything else. AMD also has a new software for tweaking power, I havent tried it.

Appreciate your comment MasterC.
GHelper seems to be open source. It would be great if Asus could contribute to that project at the very minimum providing specifications and necessary documentation, even if that could be proven to be difficult. GHelper is god send for Asus owners. If you consider what's important is what my next laptops are going to be, this is a no-brainer business decision.
