Hello everyone,
I am dealing with a severe and dangerous overheating issue with my new ASUS Vivobook S16 M5606WA (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370) and have hit a wall with ASUS's authorized service in Romania (Depanero).
The Problem:
My laptop overheats randomly, with the surface temperature exceeding 70°C and internal temperatures soaring over 90°C even while in the BIOS. Most shockingly, this overheating sometimes occurs when the machine is completely powered off. This is not just a performance bug; I consider it a potential fire hazard, especially since I have a baby at home.
Failed Service Attempts:
I have returned the laptop to Depanero (ASUS Authorized Service Center in Romania) three times. The first and second returns ended with a "No trouble found" report, the third return is currently ongoing, despite me providing:
Clear video evidence of the overheating.
Detailed BIOS temperature logs.
MyASUS diagnostic screenshots.
On-site witness from eMAG (the seller) staff.
Their repeated failure to acknowledge a demonstrable hardware fault suggests a systemic issue within their service protocol.
This is Not an Isolated Case
My search for answers suggests this may be a broader problem with this new chipset.
My Request for Help:
I am asking the community for help to:
Amplify this issue to get the attention of ASUS and AMD.
Share any similar experiences, especially with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor or ASUS Vivobook S16 series.
Suggest trusted independent technical experts or journalists who investigate hardware failures.
Advise on next steps beyond the ANPC complaint I have already filed.
