Laptop too loud?

Just got this used Asus F17 from a family member, and I'm not knowledgeable on any laptop stuff.

I logged on COD into the lobby and the fan got really loud, and I hadn't even started a match yet. Also got relatively hot on the section right above the keyboard. Is all this normal? What would be an ok temperature in the middle of a match?

Also free for tips on editing my settings in Armoury Crate to make it quieter or better for gaming

Hello,

Gaming laptops will always get warm and often modern CPUs are using a boost feature to automatically increase the CPU frequency as high as it can depending on it's design spec. For some numbers, on average an unmodified laptop will see the CPU at 90 Degrees C or above.

But before getting into the details it would be good to know the exact model of your laptop, year and CPU / GPU which armoury crate will show you.

Armoury Crate is ok but for actual temperature readings it helps to know more like the peak temperatures so if you have never used hardware monitor, give this a go. Just make sure you press + to expand all the sensor data categories.

And how old is the laptop too? (New or 2 years old...)
