I've tried various troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists. I suspect that the problem might be related to the MUX switch on my laptop. It seems that during certain points in games, the MUX switch might be malfunctioning or working incorrectly, causing my discrete GPU (NVIDIA RTX 3050 6GB) to be disabled. When this happens, the game runs on the integrated Intel® Iris® Xe, which leads to a significant drop in FPS, nearly down to zero.
For example, while playing The Last of Us Part 1, I monitored my GPU usage and noticed that during these FPS drops, the NVIDIA GPU usage goes to 0%, and the game starts running on the Intel® Iris® Xe instead. After one or two minutes, the system switches back to the RTX 3050, and the FPS returns to normal.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with the MUX switch on this model? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
