Can't figure this out. I have set the computer to never turn off display in every conceivable place it can be done to my knowledge.
Control panel power settings including advanced power settings
Control panel "choose what happens when i close lid" settings
Windows power and display settings
Armory Crate power settings
and.....it stills turns off the display when I close the lid. Any suggestions?

Hello,
Just so it makes more sense can you explain what you want to achieve because if you close the lid you can't see the screen anyway so why would you want it still powered on?
Is this a dual monitor config and when you close the lid something happens to the external monitor? Or maybe something else?

I don't want the display to turn off. That is what I am trying to accomplish. I use this machine at work, and when I have people visit my workspace I close the lid to give them my undivided attention. Opening the lid creates a +/- 2 second delay and makes the backlights on the keyboard turn off as well. It's just annoying, and I should be able to stop the computer from doing this, its a personal preference. My Vivobook did not do this. But this is a gaming laptop and has several different places to tweak power settings, none of which have stopped it from turning off the display when I close the lid, as stated.
Not a dual monitor setup. Single display, Asus F17-FX707VI

I think your only option is to contact ASUS and ask for a BIOS update that disables the lid detection feature so the screen is always active.
