Hi everyone,
I’m running into an issue with my ASUS FA617NT laptop (Windows 11, BIOS 422 from 01/22/2025) where my external monitor connected via USB-C is not detected after a reboot or sleep.
Symptoms:
The USB-C monitor won’t display anything after restarting or waking the laptop.
I do hear the USB connect/disconnect sounds when I toggle the monitor power.
The only way to get the display back is to unplug and replug the USB-C cable manually.
This has been happening since updating to BIOS 422.
What I’ve tried:
Disabled Fast Startup, Hibernation, and USB selective suspend.
Changed GPU mode in Armoury Crate from “Ultimate” to “Standard” and “Optimized”.
Disabled Panel Overdrive, Power Mode Sync, and Modern Standby Assistant.
Updated AMD Adrenalin software and verified display settings.
Added a startup script to reinitialize the display — no effect.
Using a proper USB-C to DisplayPort cable that supports video.
Monitor firmware is up to date.
I’ve searched the forums and seen a few others reporting the same issue, but so far I haven’t found any confirmed fixes or workarounds.
Has ASUS acknowledged this bug?
Is there any upcoming BIOS or EC firmware patch to address this issue?
Or is there a safe way to roll back to a previous BIOS version that didn’t have this problem?
Thanks for any help or confirmation.
