My laptop's USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2) port occasionally gets disabled when connected to a monitor or dock with USB Power Delivery (USB-PD). To re-enable it, I have to deep discharge the battery(Resetting the EC did not work https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1050239/). This is particularly annoying because only the USB 3.2 Gen 2 port is connected to the GPU. It is evident from Reddit posts that this issue is widespread and affects multiple units. Can ASUS provide a BIOS update to fix this issue?
