Hi,

as described above, every time I restart my laptop, the Aura wallpaper disappears and I have to reactivate it with the Armoury Crate App. How can I solve the problem so that the Aura wallpaper is immediately active after the restart?

Many thanks

If your Aura Wallpaper keeps disappearing after restarting your laptop, here are some steps to make it persist:

1. Enable Armoury Crate to Start with Windows

Make sure Armoury Crate launches automatically on startup so that Aura Wallpaper can be applied.

  • Open Armoury Crate.
  • Go to Settings (gear icon in the top-right corner).
  • Navigate to the General tab.
  • Enable "Start Armoury Crate automatically".

2. Ensure the Aura Wallpaper Service is Running

The ASUS Aura Wallpaper Service might not be starting automatically.

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Look for "ASUS Aura Wallpaper Service".
  • Double-click it and set Startup Type to Automatic.
  • Click Start if the service is stopped.
  • Click Apply and OK.

3. Check Windows Startup Apps

Sometimes, Windows may block Armoury Crate from running on startup.

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
  • Go to the Startup tab.
  • Find Armoury Crate or ASUS Aura Wallpaper.
  • If it's Disabled, right-click and select Enable.

4. Update Armoury Crate and Aura Wallpaper

Outdated software might be causing the issue.

  • Open Armoury Crate.
  • Go to Settings > Update Center.
  • Click Check for Updates and install any available updates.

5. Run Armoury Crate as Administrator

Try running Armoury Crate with admin rights.

  • Right-click the Armoury Crate shortcut.
  • Click Properties > Compatibility.
  • Check "Run this program as an administrator".
  • Click Apply and OK.

6. Check Windows Power Settings

Windows might be shutting down the service due to power settings.

  • Open Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Click Change plan settings for your active plan.
  • Click Change advanced power settings.
  • Find USB Settings and PCI Express > Link State Power Management.
  • Set both to Off or Maximum Performance.

7. Reinstall Armoury Crate and Aura Wallpaper

If nothing works, a clean reinstall might fix any corrupted files.

8. Check for Conflicting Software

Some third-party apps (like Wallpaper Engine) might interfere with Aura Wallpaper. Try disabling or uninstalling any third-party wallpaper apps to see if that helps.

Hi,

This issue with Aura wallpaper resetting after a restart in Armoury Crate is quite common, and it’s usually related to either Windows startup settings, Armoury Crate permissions, or conflicts with other software. Here are a few things you can try:

1. Ensure Armoury Crate starts with Windows

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
  • Go to the Startup tab.
  • Make sure Armoury Crate is enabled to start automatically.

2. Check Windows Power & Fast Startup Settings

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
  • Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  • Disable Fast Startup, as this sometimes interferes with ASUS software loading correctly.

3. Reinstall Armoury Crate & Aura Creator

  • Uninstall Armoury Crate completely using the Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool (available on ASUS’s official site).
  • Restart your laptop and download the latest version from ASUS.

4. Registry Fix (If Needed)

Some users have reported that setting the Aura wallpaper manually in the Windows Registry helps retain it after a reboot.

5. Update BIOS & Armoury Crate Drivers

  • If your BIOS is outdated, consider updating it via ASUS’s official support page.
  • Make sure your ASUS services (Armoury Crate Service, Lighting Service, etc.) are enabled in services.msc.

If you’re upgrading your setup or need PC accessories, RGB peripherals, or high-performance storage, you might want to check out this site, where they have great options for gaming setups.

Hope this helps! Let me know if the issue persists. 🚀😊
